Proofreading and playing technique issues

two things so far have popped up for me (technically three, but I’ll see if another thread corrects this issue.)

  1. I like the proofreading function, however, once you’ve corrected something, it’s annoying that the list to the right pops back to bar 1 (if you’re ignored things it suggested.) That can sometimes mean an awful lot of scrolling if you ignore some of Dorico’s well-meaning suggestions (sometimes repeated dynamics are required; it sees some things as being “too wide” when they are really divisis; and it consistently tells me that a hairpin is too long and is “cut short” by the subsequent dynamic, despite there being no other way to place it.)

  2. Oddly, Dorico seems to be changing some playing techniques to which I haven’t attached or used a continuation line, and giving them continuation. for example, one out of every 5-7 pizz/arco markings suddenly had a continuation line in Dorico 6, which they did NOT have in Dorico 5. The proofreading feature was pointing all of these out.

Dorico 6 certainly won’t be changing the duration of playing techniques in existing projects, so I suspect that they really do have a non-zero duration due to the way you created them.

Hello
Yes, but how can I actually turn OFF suggestions which disagree with, or don’t wish to modify?

You can’t remove individual results: you can either hide that whole category of results using the filter at the top of the Proofreading panel, or you can disable proofreading altogether, or you can instead simply ignore them (though I know that can be difficult).
