Would you be able to attach a small example score demonstrating this problem? I agree this isn’t right, but I suspect it may depend on the voice assignment in the kit - it would be helpful to have an example.
I think I’ve managed to work this out… Would I be right in saying that the drum set in your file was created by importing a doricolib file? For technical reasons, percussion kit files exported from v5 (or older) would create custom instruments as part of the export. (This no longer happens with kits exported from v6.) Because these are custom instruments Dorico doesn’t recognise them, and so doesn’t know about how a drummer might play them. We’ll see if we can improve this.
You are correct! I made a doricolib file for a drum kit that is set up to my preference. I appreciate the quick analysis of the issue and a hopeful fix in the future; in the meantime I’ll make a new kit in v6 and go about my merry way.
