I am composing a new work for unspecified instruments so I used a grand staff. The first two staves have a dynamic of ppp specified in the initial measure. I added a new staff in measure 22 and have ppp under that note. It caused the proofreading tool to flag it as ambiguous. If I relocate the dynamic to the rest on the first quarter-note beat, the proofreading issue goes away, but clearly that is not correct. Not a big deal, but wanted to point it out. Even if I designate each staff as a string instrument, it happens. Thanks.
It seems to be taking the Dynamic as global to the Instrument, even if I make the ppp a local dynamic. If you add a Dynamic marking to the other staves on beat 1, the error goes away.
Yes but as mentioned, those other two staves (instruments unspecified) already have their dynamics. It’s misunderstanding this as a single instrument rather than three staves. Not sure how to break them up into independent staves but this proofreading warning is NBD. Perhaps had I started with one staff then added each one it might’ve been different but I’m not sure. Thanks.
