Proper playback for a non-repeat first ending/fine ending structure

I am transcribing a march where the trio has a 1st ending with no repeat, a 2nd ending which is the fine ending, and a d.s. al fine structure to go back to the start of the trio and end with the fine ending.
I’ve used the “Suppress Playback” set to “On Passes” for the first ending and entered 2 for the pass to suppress playback on.
I’ve used “Suppress Playback” set to “On Passes” for the second ending and entered 1 for the pass to suppress playback on.
When I play through the trio Dorico plays through the first ending but for the second ending it doesn’t play but it leaves that number of beats silent so there a gap in the music. However when Dorico reaches the D.S. part it goes back to the segno and when it gets to the 1st ending it actually skips it entirely and plays the second/fine ending and stops with no gap of silence where the first ending is.
My question is how can I get rid of the gap for the second/fine ending the first time through that part of the trio? It works properly for the first ending on the D.S. so I’m not sure what I’ve set incorrectly for the second ending to not take up space on the first time through the trio.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. I’ve uploaded the dorico file so you can all see how I’ve set things. All the other repeat structures work just as they should.

Better to use a DS al Coda.

Very upbeat tune! :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks for the suggestion and I see how that can solve my playback problem but it complicates layout things for one small measure. What I’ll do to get the playback right, if there is no other solution, is to leave the structure as I have it and then since the second/fine ending is totally silent I’ll edit that silence out in an audio editing program so the demo recording will be correct.

If there is no setting currently then I’ll submit a feature request that users be able to mark a measure to be totally ignored, not just made silent, on passes.

I guess I’d really love the Sibelius ability to define our own playback map separate from the visual notation, whereby I could specify which measures to be played when. That has allowed me to create complicated multi-movement works in Sibelius and have all the repeat/d.s./d.c./fine/coda structures for each movement work perfectly.
A similar feature in Dorico would be very welcome by me.

Does this version solve your playback problem?

I removed the suppression of playback on passes in bars 77 and 78, added a hidden D.S.S. at the start of bar 78 and added a hidden Segno 2 at the start of bar 79.
