putting an effect on a bass guitar in real time cubase ai6

Hi there I hope this question isnt too stupid or obvious , I am a newbie to all of this ,

I am trying to put an effect on a bass guitar in real time so that I can hear the effect as I play the bass in real time .Is this possible with cubase Ai6 ?

If it is is there a place where I can download effects to do this with ?

What effect do you have in mind? AI 6 should have some effects included. You would put them in the insert slots of the audio track.

As for other options, Google “free vst plugins”.
