Retrospective Record is a brilliant function for composers.
And for me, it is because I can play-in to Cubase without the distraction of Cubase’ click track (metronome).
Until, that is, I want to add to it, midi drums, bass and other grid-locked tracks to the aforementioned unquantized capture.
I am sure that others will have their own strategies when tracking to an unaligned midi sequence such as this.
Therefore please, could you share your tips on Quantizing previously recorded midi that doesn’t conform to the timeline grid because the metronome wasn’t used.
