Quaver + dotted crochet in 2/4

Can anyone point me to the correct settings so that this is the default output in 2/4 time?

Not sure, but this time signature might work [2]/4

I get that type of thing when I have Force Duration selected using duration before pitch method and a mouse. Not sure about other input methods.

[2]/4 does work, but the effect on other bars of music is tragic.

In that case, it’s best to apply Force Duration when needed. In this particular case (with the tied note selected) I’d use the key sequence 5o66
