Having encountered the same behavior in my own scores, I’d like to add my 2 cents - some instruments like Samplemodeling Brass, have a “release time” knob that automates a tapered (diminuendo) note ending. This takes time and prolongs the played note length even after the “note off” message has been received. Honestly I wish ALL instruments contained this option.
I would have liked the option to accommodate these instruments in extra long notes and give them their proper time without adjusting them manually.
