Question about midi capabilities in Dorico

Hi Forum,

Does anyone know if Dorico 6 supports the ability to both route tracks to a VST instrument for playback and at the same time output the entire midi stream (across all instruments) to an inter-application bus (IAC in macOS)? Export works great, but doesn’t support real time usage. Thanks for any insights.

Play mode contains panels to create both VST and MIDI Output channels to be assigned to instruments.

I realized that I can send all midi tracks from Dorico 6 to stand-alone instances of Kontakt, which will both play a software instrument and pass a copy of the midi on to another destination. More work, but it gets the job done, for an unusual need. A little bit of latency, but not the end of the world.

You are right @Derrek, but you can’t send the MIDI data from the players to both, to a VSTinstruments and to external MIDI gear at the same time. But @Celtic-Clown found already a workaround for themself.

Thanks for the feedback. My solution works, but it helped to have the vst-midi instrument guidance.
