When soloing, muting, and unmuting tracks I often end up with tracks that are simultaneously muted and soloed.
I reckon there’s a good reason for this behavior, but I haven’t been able to figure out what the benefit might be. I would expect mute and solo buttons to be exclusive; i.e., a track could be muted or soloed, but not muted and soloed simultaneously.
In VST’s like traditional NotePerformer that feed a single stereo track back to the Dorico Mixer, muting any instrument in the Dorico Mixer will mute the entire NP set. In order to mute single tracks on this kind of VST, one needs to mute them in the original (in my example, the NP) mixer rather than in the Dorico Mixer.
(I do realize that with Note Performer’s NPPE one can assign separate return feeds to the Dorico Mixer.)
