Question about these two actions:

are these two Actions are working as they planned/designed to work?
ACTIONS/EDITOR/

  • Zoom to end
  • Zoom to all

No pushing, just bumping it up

… it’s connected to the End-Marker. Imagine a MIDI Clip from 1.1 to 10.1 and an End-Marker with 10.1

Now we zoom in to get the End-Marker behind the visible arrangement view.

If you now execute “Zoom to end”, the End-Marker will be back in the visible arrangement.

This one is connect to the full length of your project. Let’s add a seconds MIDI Track with a new Clip from 1.1 to 20.1

Let’s zoom in …

… and now let’s execute “Zoom To All”. What do you think will or should happen? At the moment it will full zoom out.

What would you expect it? Or, what’s missing?

See you,
Michael.

Hi @Spork ! First, thank you very much for your detailed explanation
Source of my confusion came from both need the right combination of "click out… or in, or something, somewhere). So in specific condition the don’t work for the first time, also “Zoom to End” does visible reallignments for repeated executions.

Exactly as you describe above I would expect “Zoom To All” being connected to
“the full lenght of my project”. Therefore expected “Zoom To All” will:

  • execute command that’s looking for all clips and events and “zoom to fit all”
(or execute cmd zoom from the beginning until EndMarker (but appearently that’s “Zoom to End”)

Yepp, confused me, “Zoom to All” command gave you also to me a >3xx BAR long overview just w.o. any reason (no -clips, -markers, -Righ-locators, -etc…). So yes, I thought this command will execute something like “zoom-to-all-clips-and-events-found-on-timeline” (as overview of the 400bars made no sense to me)

“Zoom To End” is what I was looking for then

( I thought that will somehow zoom to around EndMarker to magnify on last bars while “Zoom to All” will do something that “Zoom to End” does    shame on me  sorry and thx)

… and you are correct. That’s how it should be. We have changed it. Please re-try with the next Pre-Release 2.2.19.

See you,
Michael.
