I have a question regarding the setlist function in VST LIVE.
As a keyboardist who plays everything live, I use a dedicated song setup for every song in my live gigs. This allows me to create accurate setlists.
In most cases, a single setup is perfectly adequate for the sound selection required. However, when multiple songs are combined into a medley, I need combined song setups consisting of several parts.
I usually keep the song expanded in the left column so that, while the song is being counted in, I can see that I’ll need to switch settings a few times over the next few minutes. Opening a Setlist which I’ve saved the “expanded” state in, it opens with the expanded view.
Sometimes, I accidentally “collapse” one of these song entries in the setlist. If I save the project—for instance, after changing a MIDI volume value in a different song setup—the song with the four parts will be collapsed rather than expanded the next time I play a gig.
To clarify: This isn’t a constant issue plaguing me, but rather something that can happen.
Is there a function in VST LIVE 3.050 that could permanently lock that expandable view in its current state?
Alternatively, is there a way in VST LIVE 3.050 to create a stable, separate window where the individual parts of a multi-part song remain permanently visible?
To my knowledge that’s currently not possible. So what you would like to see is either an option “Always expand songs when loading” or a function “Expand(/collapse) all songs”. Am I getting you right here?

Yes you understood correctly. What I thought about is having an option that keeps a song-switching-file that consists of more than one part expanded or opens all these songs (which have more than one part) expanded after loading Set1, Set2, Set3.
Maybe it’s possible to have an option like that.
If not I have to be aware of what I do by saving project-files.
I normally use one project-file for one band. Another project-file for another band and so on… After having played a Set, I usually save the whole projectfile that I played the songs with, because there often are little things to change.
For the moment it seems that I have carefully have to look what I save in that live-situation…
btw I do the same Songs with PARTs are extended. Songs with a single PART are collapsed and saving the project. Also practical to do like this as the iOS app keeps that structure, reading (expanded, collapsed song view) from host (VST Live)
