Question & request

Hi!

I just had to re-render a Whole Montage and replace old saved one, but when trying to save it using the same name as before I get a warning and message to save under another name.

Would it be possible to have an option for Overwrite old montage in this popup/dialog?

Of course I can and go and delete the old one but it would be so much more easier if I just could replace/overwrite it.

The current procedure is for safety concerns. I prefer to keep it as such. Moreover, a montage is not just one file, there can be sub-folders with various files, including audio renderings. WaveLab can’t just overwrite all that blindly.

Hi!

Thank you for the reply.

No, it should not overwrite everything blindly, only the files that are to be saved by the “Save Audio Montage” window.

When starting Render of Whole Montage you first get a warning for existing audio files that are to be replaced/overwritten. And this warning is possible to override (“OK”) and proceed with rendering.

So I don’t really understand/see the difference and why the same could not be said for the montage file (incl .anc file), i.e. if you "click “OK” these files are also overwritten.

Then the whole process of re-render (and replacing) a Whole Montage works in the same way and all files are replaced… if that’s what you want.

If it is an option in both stages it is up to the user to decide.

Just my take on this! :slightly_smiling_face:
But maybe there are other things to consider!?!
