Questions re: VST Expression Maps

Hi all,

I’m new to Cubase and loving it so far, especially the “Expression Maps” feature. Two questions on this:

  1. Is it possible to manually select an articulation from the panel (see attached screenshot), or is this only to indicate which one is active? Looks like it should be clickable, but isn’t.

(To clarify, I understand how to set up articulations for playback; I’m just asking about the scenario of noodling at the keyboard. For example I would love to be able to click “Violins,” click “Pizz.,” and play.)

  1. Is there any way of getting the articulations & directions from a standalone music notation program (Sibelius, Finale) to be recognized by Cubase’s expression maps? Of course I don’t expect Cubase to read a .sib file, but maybe someone has developed a creative solution? :unamused:

Cheers,
Conor
