I want to link record/monitor for an audio and a midi channel. This works when using “link group” but not with quick link. Am I missing something?

I found a strange detail: Quick-Linking of audio and midi tracks (mixed) works only, if the mixer window is NOT focussed. …
It seems to have something to do with track selection. For the Q-Link to work the selections have to be done in the project window (or with the project window in focus). Otherwise quicklink does not work.
Visually the cannels are selected in the mixer window, but somehow - in the background the selection is not recognized for q-link. Strange enough this is NOT an issue when only selecting audio tracks/channels and trying to link them.
