Why does this result in the selected event becoming unselected:
While this results in the selected event remaining selected:
The opposite should be true.
Can anyone test this simple case so I know it’s not just me?
Is this Cubase 13? I tried on Cubase 12.0.60 PC and it worked as expected. Select did nothing, Deselect did deselect any selected event.
That’s what I would expect.

Do you understand the difference between “Event” and “Part”?
You are probably selecting “Part”.
