I thought I can handle some of the issues with Omnivocal (no mute, clunky editing etc) but lately it’s becoming a real showstopper. When I freeze/unfreeze or deactivate/active it messes a whole bunch of words/syllables that means I have to re-edit quite a bit. And now on export Cubase just render the synth sound. The older version don’t had these issues.
Are these known bugs? Anything I can do to solve it?

Wait for the next release, it is a Beta product.
Some issues I have didn’t get fixed in the first update. But as it seems there’re new issues with the recent version. Now I can’t use Omnivocal. Great.
As I said, it is clearly marked as a Beta product, so you can not expect this product to work in a production Environment.
Beta means Bugs are still expected and another Beta release can have even more.
Not sure if they are known. You could help by describing the issues as exact as possible. A step-by-step reproduction sequence is always helpful, too.
I don’t believe it’s called Beta because of known or future bugs, how strange would that be. It’s more likely called this because the outcome (the actual singing) is not perfect. It’s part of Cubase and it’s there to make demos, if not can you imagine someone reviewed it after paying 200 €\$ for this? By the way, are you using Omnivocal?
That’s exactly what ‘beta’ means. When a software package (of any kind) goes through the alpha stage, the most obvious bugs are identified and, presumably, resolved and the package rendered stable before being moved to the beta stage. At this point it’s common to offer the package to some or all of the user community to try it out and report back on bugs, whether they be operational or functional. As these issues are resolved, the package makes its way from beta to being a release candidate and ready for production.
Yamaha / Steinberg have made it clear that this product is in beta so you use it at your own risk. I certainly wouldn’t be trying to use this in any kind of production capacity at the moment, but that’s just me.
Since you are trying this product out, you are effectively a member of the beta team. As @Johnny_Moneto has suggested above, if you post the details of your problem along with the steps to reproduce, and mark this thread as an issue, the chances are that the developers will be able to look at your feedback, which would actually be constructive, and you’d be contributing to making it a better product.
This tells me that you don’t know how software development stages work.
As @KT66 wrote, there are various stages, depending on the quality of the package. The typical naming is, in ascending order, “development, alpha, beta” and if there are no more serious bugs it is named Production, or GA (General Release). Everything before GA means undetected bugs are still possible.
In all of these stages higher releases will be built, but that does not mean the higher release number is automatically the better software.
You paid the price for the Cubase update, not for Omnivocal. Yamaha obviously has decided to put Omnivocal as an add-on into the package for users to test it, clearly saying it is not ready yet.
No, I do not use it because it is not ready for general use. I tried it and then put it away.
@Johnny_Moneto and @KT66 mentioned it, create a thread describing your problems so they can be reproduced and mark the thread as “issue”. These information will help the developers fix the problems and make Omnivocal ready for real usage.
