It should work. The faster RAM should operate at the slower bus speed.

At the very least, if the RAM fits in the socket, there should be little to no chance of harming anything. Some incompatibility can always show up.

Might want to run the Windows memory diagnostic or memtest before you boot into Windows though.

I’d go with the CT12864Z335 sticks as Crucial recommend and replace any differing RAM so 3 CT12864Z335.

As you say putting in differing types is a gamble, My old motherboard never had any luck with differing makes of RAM.
