Hi,
I’ve gone through several threads about this issue, but no one seems to have reported it being present in Cubase 13 so far and none of the suggestions in earlier threads has had any effect for me.
Well, here it goes (again):
I’m having severe issues with the infamous “spinning beachball of death” and in my case it’s intermittent meaning that it seems to occur randomly out of nowhere and then go away. The computer fans are always kicking in and accelerating slowly whenever this happens.
This is extremely frustrating as it puts my workflow to a halt, sometimes forcing me to wait up to 30 secs - 1 min before it goes away, meanwhile freezing everything in the program, including ongoing playback. It then takes a while before returning, usually every 20-40 mins or so. Needless to say; I can’t work like this. It completely breaks Cubase for me.
I recently upgraded my whole system from scratch (clean install) so there isn’t any old code having been overwritten. Also, I’m running VEP 7.3.3725 where I host all my instruments so it’s not tied to any long saving times.
Has anybody encountered the same and found a solution?
My system specs are:
iMac 2019 3.6 GHz 8-core, 128 GB RAM, Sonoma 14.6.1 (clean install)
Brand new MOTU 828 (2024) USB audio interface.
Cubase 13 (latest version) + lots of plugins, all updated to the latest version.
