HI, no reason not to allow this.
I keep accidently making range tool selections when grabbing multiple events across multiple tracks or whatever.
It should only mute events that are completely covered with the range selection and ignore those only partially selected.

This is Cubase philosophy. Every event is consider as selected, if you select its start, not the whole event. It’s the same with the lasso selection. It’s enough to lasso over the Event/Part start, to select it.
Either way I’d accept for this feature request, range should be able to mute.
