I am working on a tuba part in my orchestra piece, and there is a staff that places a rehearsal number needlessly too high, creating a large space between two staves. So I manually moved the rehearsal number down and to the side, so that I can move the two staves closer together. (Please see the attached image of the page with the moved position of rehearsal number 24.)
I would like to move the affected staff up closer to the staff above, with the result of all the staves below spreading out proportionally to compensate at the same time. I do not want to have to move every staff on the page to re-create a balanced page in terms of consistent staff spacing. When I try to do this using either the upper or lower staff handle while holding down the option key, the other staves do not move proportionally.
Also, I would expect âReset Layoutâ under Notation Menu Staff Spacing to compensate for the extra space I created, but nothing happens after clicking that. (I believe Dorico assumes the rehearsal number I moved is still in itâs default position when calculation staff spacing on the page. If that is true, it would be nice if âReset Layoutâ would take into account the NEW position of manually-moved musical elements when avoiding collisions.
What is the most efficient way the get the balanced re-spacing that I want for that page?
