An old website forum (‘Emu’s On Acid’) which I used to frequent has recently been resurrected (now called ‘Samplers On Acid’).
Obviously I do not want to steer people away from this wonderful Steinberg forum, but it may be of some interest to a few members on here.
It is still in it’s early days and so obviously not in full swing as yet :-

I am still (at heart) a hardware guy (hence I recently purchased a DX21 and DX7 !). Though I have a few Steinberg and Aruria VST’s on my PC. I am kind of the opposite to you in that I find that the more VIRTUAL stuff you own, the LESS it gets used and jut ends up sitting there. Whereas I have been studying FM Synthesis and the DX’s solid for nearly a year now. However, I have made the least progress on my EMU E4 (sadly).
