Re-pitch Chords without MIDI Keyboard?

Hi all! I’m working in piano music - I’ve copy/pasted a rhythmic passage and want to change the pitches using Lock Duration, but some of the notes are individual pitches and some are triads. If I’m using a typing keyboard only (assume I’m working away from a MIDI keyboard), what’s the quickest way to change the pitches of these triads? If I use Q before adjusting the triad, it will add pitches to it rather than replace them. If I replace one note first and then hit Q, I have to use the arrow key to go backwards before adding pitches to it again. Is there something I’m missing to make this easier? Thanks in advance!

The most efficient way I can think of without a midi keyboard is to do two passes: First repitch to the bottom note (or single note) with chord mode off, then go back and add the rest of the notes in chord mode. Press Space to advance to the next note.
