Read - only file error message

Hello, I created a piano-vocal part on Dorico for iPad. I then added instruments to the same project on my laptop with Dorico 6 Pro. So far so good.

I then took my laptop to my off grid hide away. No wifi. When I attempted to work on my project with Dorico 6 I get a message that I have exceeded the permitted number of instruments and my Dorico file is now “read only”.

Does Dorico 6 require internet connection at all times? Or is the read only issue something else entirely?

If you are using a less full-featured version of Dorico on your laptop (or if you meant to say iPad instead of laptop) some versions have a limited number of voices available for editing, and opening a file more staves than the limit will only show the file as read-only.

Internet capability should not on its own cause the shift.

When I got back to my home internet situation I rebooted everything and the issue went away. Thanks!
