I’ve created some plug-in presets in a different tool (Sound Forge 18) and it saves them in a different place and apparently a different format - in a VST3 folder, with the suffix .vstpreset - the plug-in seems unwilling to understand the preset from within Cubase. How can I make this work? I’ve navigated to the appropriate folder via the MediaBay but no files are recognized/showing up. Same issue with Waves and UA plug-ins, so it seems to be a Cubase issue.
Cubase expects vstpresets in a specific location and in a specific format. Both are defined here:
If Soundforge does not adhere to that, Cubase will not find it for any plugin.
So for example in Windows .vstpreset files are usually located in C:\Users\$YOUR_USERNAME/Documents/VST3 Presets/$COMPANY_NAME/$PLUGIN_NAME/
I’ve seen Programs that save VST3 plugin presets in their own location and format, and that won’t work.
If the plugins in question have their own preset management system (a lot of plugins nowadays have that), I would use that.
