You misunderstand. That’s not why I I’m suggesting changing the hub UI.
I frequently use default location. The issue is: with previous versions, I could see what the location settings are, right in the hub window. Very often, the current settings are already set to what I want and I can proceed directly to creating the project.
In C15, I cannot see the location settings without opening the hub settings dialog. Because the consequence of pressing the create button depends on settings I cannot see, I must always open that dialog before pressing the create button, even if it is just to confirm that the settings are set to what I want.
This adds extra mouse clicks to a critical juncture in my workflow, where I’m trying to quickly get ideas down while inspiration hits. This problem would be solved by simply moving the location info from the hub settings to the main hub window.
Dear Matthias, are you no longer planning to move the project folder out of the hub settings?
it feels like being forced to do something totally unnecessary—like taking off your pants just to fart.
This is much more frequently used than selecting a sound card driver—so why do you insist on shoving it in there? Why do you have to upend users’ habits with a bad design that turns their work from convenient to needlessly cumbersome?
I brought up this point before, but I didn’t receive a response—nor did I see any related replies in other posts. So I felt compelled to ask again. Please give me a reply when you can. Thank you very much.
Just to give you a quick update: our team is looking into the issue some of you are having with the default project location in the HUB settings. We’re planning a new solution for the 15.0.10 update, but there’s no release date yet.
Thank you for your reply. Now it’s Cubase 15.0.6, hope it won’t be too long before we reach version 15.0.10.
Alternatively, you could consider giving users more flexibility—something like the Add User Location so we can choose for ourselves whether to display the project Location on the homepage.
Wish you all the best.
