Realtime Level INPUT Monitoring while recording Wavelab 12 not working

I could not get any signal to register on any Monitors while recording last night.

I am digitising my Vinyl collection from XDJ-XZ to UR44 soundcard into Wavelab 12.0.5 (or latest version) PC, Win 11.

I’m using Audio Montage, with adding vinyl recordings to tracks (although I don’t think I need to do that) I am looking to process bulk into FLAC.

I am able to record no problems, but I wanted to view my input levels on Wavelab to see if I’m coming in too hot. But even though sound comes through I can’t see anything register on any Level Monitor at all.

I checked all the manuals and every time I try to switch on LIVE MONITOR anywhere I get a “double hit” echo effect like an audio loop. All the meters light up until I turn off live monitor setting and the audio loop disappears and so does the Meters input readings.

ALL meters work fine on PLAYBACK of already recorded audio.

It makes no difference if I change the Monitor setting to INPUT instead of PLAYBACK.

In Wavelab 9 we had a little input gain monitor on Record box, which was handy.

In the end I had to just rely on the XDJ level monitor to see how much I was pumping into Wavelab, this seems crazy.

Am I missing something?

Am I going mad?

What am I doing wrong please?

Thanks for your help.

There is an option to launch the record window using Alt+Rec Button and you can add to active track of montage.

Hi Marker, thanks for replying.

That’s the box I’m looking for!

But I couldn’t see an option in Preferences?

I’ll have another search.

While Montage is open you have to press Alt/Opt + Record Button

Ok I’ll try that thanks
