realtime visual display despite buffer settings

Bug? Feature? I don’t know. This might apply to all computer-based audio, or not.

It makes no sense, working at high buffer settings, to SEE the signals of compressors and EQs drawn on screen a second or more before HEARING the effect. Delay all visuals to be in time with the audio please. Seeing a multiband compressor react to sounds that happened a second ago is very confusing.

Do we have the technological ability to do this yet? Seems like job #1 to me especially if a DAW is going to replace working on dedicated hardware.

Isn’t this clear to everyone, that all plugin meters show the signal before it is heard, with the gap being related to the audio buffer size? No real-time audio/visual sync!
