Reason Rack plugin in Cubase doesn't play the first note

When using the Reason Rack plugin with the Euclidean Rhythms player device in Cubase, it almost never plays the first note, but starts on the second note.

In Ableton Live the same setup does play the first note.

Thanks!

If you move the first note in a millisecond will it play?

@glennloopez Thanks for your reply.

Putting -5, -10 or -1000 ms track delay doesn’t fix it, but it does work as expected if I move the midi item (which contains a held note) to e.g. the second bar, then it starts playback when it should. So I guess there’s something magical with the beginning of the transport.

To clarify, putting the transport cursor at bar 2 and starting playback from there does trigger the first note, so it’s not a matter of having to start playback before the midi clip. So the start of transport does seems special.

I’m on macOS 27.0, Cubase 15.0.30 and Reason 14.1d100

How about enabling ‘chase midi’ ?

Yes moving the midi note would be a fix which I have experienced before, not the track delay. It should be enough to move decrease the midi not from the left side by a tiny margin work. According to a very reliable vst maker they told me Cubase was to fault - however it seems they have fixed it for their instruments in Cubase - I guess this is the same case for this instrument then.

@suseka Thanks for the suggestion, however it doesn’t help.

Thanks @glennloopez, that’s helpful context.
