IS there a way to start record on beat 3 for example? currently if I place the playback on beat 3 then hit record playback is moved to the start of the bar.
Don’t use the count-in function. It’s useless unless for some reason you need to begin recording at bar one beat one.
Set your left locator to beat 3 and make sure “record begins at left locator” is on in the prefs. That’s the default state. so it probably is.
Set “pre-role” for whatever value you need. Hit record.
Punch-in function is good too but usually not necessary.
