Just moved to Cubase 12 (from 6!) and I thought I remember being able to do this in the older version. I don’t see why I can’t choose Record Enable just like Read/Write Enable to apply to all tracks in a Group.
You might be thinking of either Folder Tracks or Link Groups, the latter being accessible from the MixConsole (F3).
Group Tracks don’t have Record buttons.
