Hi everyone,
I can’t find a way to disable Record in editor activating every time I open a Key Editor (even if I disabled the “Record follows active track” in preferences); the annoying is that if I click on the left keyboard to pre listen a sound (drum part specially) it puts that note in the part…
I didn’t find the same exact question in previous posts
Hope I explained myself well enough…
Thanx,
Art
Hi,
This is really wierd, this should never happen.
Could you try in the Cubase Safe Start Mode [Disable preferences], please? Or even rename/remove all Cubase versions preferences folders?
Cubase Preferences folders are:
Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/Cubase X
Win: %appData% \Steinberg\Cubase X_64
Where the X is the Cubase version (for example 13).
HI Martin,
I’m working on an urgent project at the moment; I’ll try this after I’m done, just for precaution… I’ll let you know as I’ll try it.
Thank you,
Art
You don’t have Step Input turned on by chance, do you?
Hi,
Oh, you are right! I was also thinking of this, but I dodn’t know, that the Step Input records the data also from this Key Editor’s kesyboard. Nice!
Thank you
Hi @mlib,
your idea was good, in fact a couple of day ago I found MIDI input (not step) was active even if I hadn’t activate it and it is again today
.
I don’t consider this topic ‘solved’ anyway, as my original question was about Record in Editor button (upper left corner)
that I always find active even if I didn’t activate it and I would like to know if there’s a way to keep it ‘off’ in preferences…
Thank you for answering,
Art
