It would be cool to have a built-in resizable plug in that you can place anywhere, (such as a remote monitor in the booth) that is basically a big red recording light. You could also have an optional text overlay like “Recording” or “On-Air”. Another option could make it flash in time with the click.

A plugin or option in Nuendo would be nice. But have you checked the Punchlight? We have it in our booth. You can configure it to have different colors depending on status (rec, play, standby) and even flash with metronome, and/or count-in.
