I’m adding ideas to a vocal track and want to make a memo by making recordings colored different after that decision. I know I will want a new color for the new recording and want to affect that even before pressing [rec]

Hi,
The event gets tracks color. So if you want to define the color before, you could create a new track, set the color of the track (or you could use internal automatic coloring, like “Use Previous Track COlor +1” from Preferences > Event Display > Tracks), and then record the event.
