I have an external source for recording in cubase element 12 - UMC404HD - 4ch.
it seems that I already have everything set up, but the problem is that when I want to play what I recorded, nothing can be heard, even though the recording with the track is visible, but it seems to be empty or deaf. What could be the problem? thank you for the advice.

Hi,

Make sure, the Monitor buttons (the orange speaker) of the tracks are disabled while playback, please.

Can you hear it while recording thru Cubase or Direct Monitoring? How is the output set up?

Hi Martin, yes thanks, you’re right, I still had the monitoring on. It works now, but now I have a different problem, sometimes during recording you can hear skipping of sound, and such as cracking, and skipping of sound, I don’t know what to set, so that the sound of the recording is as good as possible, full without these problems. Thank you very much for advice, an yes it helped. But I have another problem, when exporting the recording, the resulting sound is many times faster than the original recording. I don’t know what the problem is.

Hi,

Make sure, the Project Sample Rate matches the Audio Device Sample Rate.

Then, when you play the exported file back (which player do you use?), also make sure, the sample rate matches.
