When I record a simple wav. file as a vocal for example, the audio track is overly zoomed, so that it looks like it’s completely over gained and distorted. It is not and if I double click and go to the track editor its normal again, showing normal peaks. Maybe I’ve accidently pressed some setting, but I can’t seem to figure out what…

There is a WaveForm Zoom slider on the right-top corner of the Project area (under Divide Track List). If you cannot see it, close the Lower Zone, and the slider appears. Set the slider to the minimum to get the original value.
