Hi there, I have Cubase elements 12 and I have been recording vocals and guitar via line 6 Audio Interface for some time without problems. Recently, when I record the vocals it’s fine but when I record the guitar the recording is low although I haven’t changed any settings, See Pics (the first pic is the Vocals and the 2nd is the Guitar), can you please help, thank you
Hi,
I am not sure how to read your input levels: the pics show a stereo input and two mono inputs.
Do you print amp and fx into your track? In other words, do you use a single mono instrument input on your interface and send amp & fx as a stereo signal to Cubase? Or do you have line 6 as an insert?
In the first case, you’d have to adjust not only the input gain of your guitar at your audiointerface but also the amp & fx plus settings in line 6 before it hits Cubase’s inputs (probably as a stereo signal). In the second case, you just have to adjust the guitar’s input gain on your audiointerface.
Also check:
- volume poti on your guitar
- pregain on your input channel in Cubase
Hi, thanks for replying, I think I might have solved the problem. I opened a new project and I recorded the guitar and it was fine. I have no idea why but obviously it was for that particularly project even though I didn’t change any setting, that is why I was puzzled! who knows, the beauty of technology I guess! anyway, thanks all the same much appreciated
