Recording in cycle mode

Hey,

Can someone tell me, can I record MIDI in cycle mode without the resultant MIDI region filling the entire space between locators? So if I wanna just drop in 4 bars of piano in the middle of a cue, the region will only take up the area that played back while record was engaged.

I know this is how it behaves when not in cycle mode, but would love to turn it off for cycle mode if possible. I can’t imagine what purpose it serves.

Thanks heaps!

Hi,

Since Cubase 9 you can de-couple L/R Locators and Punch In/Out Markers. Then you can do this.
