Recording Live VST output as audio

Hi guys - how would I manage to record the output from a VST instrument directly to an audio track?

I use Stylus RMX a lot, and whilst it’s chaos function is useful, it would be a lot more useful to me if I could record the output directly to a track.

I’ve tried, but I’m not the best technically and I’m struggling for a solution to what seems like a basic task.

Any and all help much appreciated!

Hi guys - how would I manage to record the output from a VST instrument directly to an audio track?

That would depend on which software and / or hardware you are using…

Cubase 5 and, in this instance, Stylus RMX as the VSTi.

All running internally on a MacBook pro. That is - no external audio/midi interfaces.

I hope that helps to find a solution - thanks for the input!

It´s explained in the Cubase 5 manual: “Recording from busses”

I sensed the sarcasm in the first post.

Having a bad week? Should I ruffle your hair?

Numpty.

Was there something wrong with the answer that thinkingcap gave you?

As the explanation is slightly long winded and the manuals explanation is correct.

Well, the feature is not available in all versions of Cubase, and it is not possible with all audio interfaces, therefore the question. I really don´t see a problem with that.
