recording Midi CC in some templates but not others?

Have a few templates that I use. I have imported track archives of the same midi tracks in all of these templates.

yet only one of these templates records midi CC directly to the track automation lane. The others I have to record it into midi blocks and then move it to the track automation lane.

Where is the setting that makes this happen? Does anyone out there know?

There’s an option in Preferences>MIDI>MIDI File>Import Options>“Import Controller as Automations Tracks”… but I would have though that would be a global setting, not per Project. Try it anyways :wink:.

I found it. under the Midi menu /CC Automation Setup… this top pulldown needs to be set to Automation track.
