Recording Web Audio flus

Hello, you will now record an audio stream from an internet page with Wavelab pro.
I have tried using the “VB AUDIO VIRTUAL CABLE” driver.
Chickpeas work best with AUDACITY but with WAVELAB PRO.
Do you have a solution?

Does your audio interface have loopback? I use loopback to record from the web.

When I need to do this, I just used basic Windows soundcard settings for my motherboard’s RealTek interface. Just opening WaveLab now to check how I have things set, here are the settings inside WaveLab:

I seem to recall there were some tweaks I had to make inside either WaveLab or Windows or both when I initially set this up on my Windows 11 system last year, but I don’t recall the specifics at this point. I do know which Windows driver was used was important as some didn’t work at all and others didn’t record.

Of course, this also assumes that any playing you’re doing from a browser (or other Windows app) uses the driver in question (I don’t use my main music/production audio interface for the web or other Windows sounds, only for Cubase and sometimes other production software like WaveLab – I use WaveLab with both my sound card and with my MOTU audio interface, depending on needs at the time). One possible tweak might have been having to use the Steinberg ASIO driver instead of the one associated with the soundcard itself (which appears to be totally useless for anything as far as I can tell).

Hi, I tried using both the Steinberg driver and the Stereo Mix driver, but without success.
It seems Wavelab doesn’t recognize these virtual interfaces.
My setup:
Windows 10 Insider
Behringer UMC 204HD audio interface, with its two inputs connected to the left and right outputs of a TEAC AD-850 SE deck.
The left and right outputs are connected to an amplifier.

As a paid alternative ($29), this was just released yesterday. It works as a plug in on DAWs (including Wavelab 12) and as a standalone app in the sys tray. AudioRoute Very easy to install and use. Best selling point is that it doesn’t interfere with your existing audio routing.

The next step will be a blue screen… not so much fun, Steinberg!
Honestly: I never had any bluescreen for years now.

Better stick to Audacity for simple Loopback-Recording as it is meant by Microsoft. This at least, Microsoft can do.

With regard to using the Steinberg built-in ASIO driver, what you have or have not tried is unclear. Please try the following:

  • In Wavelab Pro, please select File>Preferences>Audio Connections, select the Steinberg built-in ASIO driver and then click on the Control panel and take a screenshot and post it here.
  • In Windows 11, select Settings>Sound>More Sound Settings>Recording and post a screenshot of that here.
  • In Windows 11, select Settings>Sound>More Sound Settings>Recording>Stereo Mix>Properties>Advanced and post a screenshot of that here.

This might give us some more clues.

I still do not understand, why Steinberg software does not include this.
