You sure you’re looking at Cubase 14.0.20 in your screen shot.? Then yes, this would be new in that case…!
Yep C14.0.20 , just checking Thx
Hi,
You can enable or disable it. So what is the problem?
This was originally in Nuendo only. In Nuendo the selection wasn’t visually presented by the black Event/Part, but by this red border. Now Cubase and Nuendo look the same. The Event/Part becomes black and you can decide, if you want to see the red border or not.
I think you got it wrong, Martin. We are very happy about this new feature!!

I just turned it on, excellent feature, makes workflow a bit easier especially with big projects with a lot of tracks.
There’s a poll going on right now about the Red Outline. That’s a nice way to let Steinberg know if we appreciate or dislike a new feature and will surely impact future decisions.
I love new features that:
That’s the trinity
Hate it. Im here in order to find out how to disable that poopies.
Please read the first message in the topic.
Also, I’ve noticed other stuff. Minor glitches and bugs. Like for instance my click wich didnt work yesterday, but works again today. And I’m this computers only user, had made no alterations since yesterday. It was active, but no sound. No issues with controll room, all active. Shut down and restart, no change. And just by magic working today!
It sounds more like you’ve got problems with your rig, but what does this have to do with the red event outline?
Oh well, can’t please everyone. At least you can disable it in less time than it takes to moan about it on the forum.
But this is more fun!

Or so it all too often seems, these days.
I did not know of this feature. I can use it. Thanks!
