Redundant dynamics

Dear all,

the new proofreading feature shows me a lot of redundant dynamics.
Is there really no faster way than clicking on each of them, then to right-click on the note in order to filter the dynamics and finally to press delete?

Would be nice if one could simply let Dorico correct the mistake (or even all of them) by one click.

Thank you!

This issue has been brought up about 10 to 15 times here since the release of Dorico 6

I’m so sorry, didn’t check all the other threads before. So the answer is short: no?

Indeed, Dorico doesn’t ā€œfixā€ any of the issues it raises in the Proofreading panel on its own. It’s not always obvious what the best solution will be – human judgement can’t be replaced.

This may be outside the scope of what’s possible or affordable in programming time, but as an author I use ProWritingAid, and it also highlights ā€œerrorsā€. With one click on the list, it takes me to the offending spot in the text and offers several suggestions for fixes. I can select one of those, reject them all, or click a button that takes me into edit mode to fix it by hand. It’s all very straightforward and quick, and when done, it takes me back to the same place in the list.
Another thing it does is it only offers a list of errors for the page that is showing, not a list of every error in the document.

Actually Iā€˜d be happy if by clicking on the ā€šmistake’ Dorico would select the dynamics only so that I could simply press delete in order to remove it. I find it much more time consuming to remove dynamics than it was in Finale, in general, since it’s very difficult to not select the corresponding note as well. Very often you also have to remove it from its group first to not delete all the others, too.

I’m surprised to hear you say that. I never have a problem clicking directly on a dynamic.

True—but I have a key command assigned to ungroup, which makes this easier.
