Reevaluate the use of hidden items in the Cubase GUI

I was answering a question here about adding additional Automation Lanes to a Track and posted the image below, along with instructions to hover over the circled area to reveal the control.

It seems to me there is no real value in ever hiding the control & it has plenty of downsides. Nobody new to Cubase would ever think to hover over the corner of something in order to maybe reveal some magical hidden controls. And this leads to Cubase having a rep for being cumbersome at times because… duh, stuff like this actually is cumbersome.

There are little hidden controls all over Cubase. Someone should take a second look and see if they really make any sense.

I ran out of forum votes a long time ago, but I second this.

What’s even more hidden is move just a little to the right of that crosshair, press shift+right click, and the color menu for the track pops up. Never would have found that if it wasn’t for the forum. Now scouring the key bindings to see what I’m missing out on.
