Register Noise feature request

Using Noise Reduction a lot unmixing old cassette tape recordings.
If I register several different noises, adding them to the Presents, there dosn’t seem to be any way of switching between different noise identifications .
there is no ’ load’ option, as it were, for different named Presets ??

Thanks for reporting the issue, this will be fixed in the next patch.

Thanks again Robin. Anything to make my life easier is good.
Thought someone else might have noticed before me though.

Regarding noise, I have a newbie question: I have separated my stems in SL10, and I now have somewhat isolated the electric keyboard track (from my Live recording). However, the keys have buzzing sounds, which do not seem to be hum, but perhaps amp noise. I cannot find a simple way of eliminating this noise. I’ve tried “noise reduction” settings but it cuts all the treble out. I’m guessing I could use notch filters but it would take all day to find the settings. Is there a simple way to do this in SL? Thanks!

You could possibly try Unmix components and (visually) check the noise component for any suspect frequency.

Or you could try Unmix levels - try different settings - and see if you can find the buzz there.

Or you could try a combination of the two above; first one and then the other.

Hi Ernie.
I’ve been trying to unmix mono tracks & eliminate the inevitable residual noises from old analog cassette recordings. I cannot say this is the same as your problem & pardon me if you have already tried this but…
Have you tried Zooming in on the Track and Magic Wanding all of the ’ fuzzy noise’ from in between the pitch frequencies of the EP ? [ if there is any, that is ] It might clean it up a bit… It maybe depends on how many notes the EP is playing at one time.
Also, perhaps , if your original method cuts out all of the treble could you copy the treble from the original track to another track before you do the buzz/hum removal from the whole & then mix the doctored treble back in after you’ve edited the main track, as a whole ?
Perhaps another way would be to only do Noise Reduction on the lower pitches - again, I don’t know if you have already tried this.
I sometimes have a problem isolating a vocal from an instrument [ EP / Guitar ] that happens to be playing the same pitch. One pitch - the vocal -has vibrato on it but the other is usually constant. It would be great if AI could differentiate the two. They both have similar overtones as well ofc. I’ve tried everything I can think of to isolate a vocal & not have it sound ’ weedy’ but, as yet, I can only half do it. I can’t re-record the tracks, wish I could. But who knew AI would come along & be able to do this , way back in time ?
This AI is smart but not smart enough, yet, maybe future versions will be able to sort things … then i have to start editing again…never ending.

@paul_clegg actually this is working as expected in SL 10.0.40, are you on the latest update ?

Hi Robin
Oops… no I’m on 10.0.30.
Thanks . I’ll download the update asap
