Regression? Cannot delete plugin in mix console with the DEL key

I am in favor of the requests in this thread being reimplemented, but after many years of using Cubase I recently learned it is possible to remove a plugin by dragging it off the slot. In the event that those in this thread are unaware of this feature, I thought I’d mention it.

I think I even knew that once :man_facepalming: , but just got so used to the delete key method (it’s all about muscle memory, isn’t it…). You have to drag it in a non-insert-slot area, though, else you just move the plugin. But that is totally fine and easily doable. Good solution, I’ll try to get used to that.

So, many ways to skin a cat, eh, remove a plugin

I still want the full tab/cursor key movement capabilities back from C12!

Totally hear you. I was investigating this question of focused slot behavior a few weeks ago because I haven’t been able to figure out a reliable way to copy/paste inserts & sends using keyboard shortcuts. I can’t ever tell which element is focused. Seems like a bit of a mess still, as I said I fully support efforts to improve it.

But yes, dragging a plugin out of its slot to an area where the little X appears is a nice way to delete a plugin!

If you click on the plugin slot twice in succession (slowly, not double-click!), you can remove the plugin with Del.

I’m with you! More generally every single keystroke that used to work, and not just in the mixConsole.

Hi,

I agree. In fact, I would like to get an overall key-navigation concept for Cubase.

That would also help implement quite a bit of MIDI Remote stuff considering a lot of it is based around keyboard shortcuts.
