Hello all,
I am attempting to make some quick snappy percussion parts for a techno track. The sound I’m going for requires abrupt sample stops which requires fine tuning of when the sample playback ends. When not in One-Shot mode, the Sampler Track KINDA allows you to do this, but it feels like the sample lingers much longer than the associated MIDI would suggest. I tested this by making the MIDI note lengths minuscule and observing the outcoming sound. Even when setting the MIDI notes to basically as small as I could make them (probably in the range of a few ms), the sample still plays long enough for the timbre of the sample to be discernible which, if the sample was actually played for as long as the MIDI note is active, it should not be. It should theoretically sound like a tiny little blip or digital glitch. In other words, the sample is clearly being played back much longer than the associated MIDI note specifies. Is there a way to fix this or another tool that should be used for this? Thank you.
