Remote MIDI Script Assignments Not Recalled in Cubase 15

After updating to Cubase 15, the Remote MIDI Script assignments I’ve created are not being recalled correctly. Specifically, the functions I’ve assigned to my remote controller are lost every time I restart my Mac, and I have to reassign all functions manually.
Same issue introduced with Cubase 14.0.40.

When can we expect a fix for this? Thanks so much! Cubase is working very well for me beside some little thing.

from what I remember these issues has been addressed several times and also in the 14.0.40 update. I did clean out my midi remote section after I installed 14.0.40 and reinstalled my scripts. All did transfer perfectly to v15 for me, I am running mac os 15.7.1

I did clean up my remote and reassigned everything (on both 14.0.40 and 15), and it transferred correctly to 15. However, after restarting the computer, it all went back to square one (for both version).

i´m having the same issue (Cubase 15 Pro on Win10)
after upgrading from C13 to C15, none of my midi remote controller assignments were working, but even worse, it also destroyed them for C13 and they are empty there now as well :face_with_steam_from_nose:
does anybody know where these are locally stored, perhaps i have a backup somewhere

Thanks for reporting!
If I’m not mistaken, it makes sense that it no longer works in Cubase 13 either, since they use the same folder. I might be wrong, though.

On Mac, the path is:
Macintosh HD ▸ Users ▸ [username] ▸ Documents ▸ Steinberg ▸ Cubase ▸ MIDI Remote ▸ Driver Scripts ▸ Local ▸ [device name brand] ▸ [script]

Maybe there’s a similar path on Windows?

thank you, i found the path but at the end it wasnt worth the hassle of getting them from backup and fumbling around, as it was faster for me to redo them since it i needed only to map the Focus Quick Controls 1-8, FX Send Enable and Level 1-8 and the Transport section

i noticed that only the global assignments were removed, the project based assignments were still properly assigned. still weird this happend though

I had the same problems. I had to redo all the work. I’m disappointed with the new MIDI remote system.

Same problem here.
But I noticed that:

  1. If I manually reprogram my controllers and create a new project, the work!
    If I open an older project from C14 they disappear and I have to do them all over again.
  2. Even in C15, If I change something in midi remote, lets say the position of a controller in the grid, the next time I will open C15 the parameter will be at the old position.
  3. After installing C15, C14 has exactly the same problem!

I thing that the problem is in C15 file system and I hope Steinberg to solve this problem soon. I am a fun of midi remote, so…. I hope.

bei mir fehlen die Zuweisung Seiten.. sehr umständlich. jedes Mal muss man sie anwählen, alles probiert .. C15 speichert sie einfach nicht mit dem Song ab … Die Controller werden angezeigt (nicht immer) aber wie gesagt nicht die Programmierten Zuweisungen … C15 startet immer mit den Default Einstellungen

Same problem here with pro 14.0.41 … :face_with_diagonal_mouth:
Not right after the update. Since today, suddenly gone.
Even if I reload my script, I get my board, the buttons react, but no assignments.

Yes, this matches exactly what you described. I also tried overwriting the script files using a backup, but that did not resolve the issue.

At this point, the only solution has been to manually re-create all assignments. I’ve taken screenshots of all relevant pages so I can quickly find the exact name of all the functions and restore them if it happens again.

Currently, the only reliable workaround I’ve found is to power on the controller BEFORE starting the computer, EVEN IF I’m not planning to use the controller or Cubase. Hope this helps somebody.

Same here. (I’m in Nuendo though) I ended up going back to 14.0.20. So far things have been back to normal. Let’s see if it lasts…
