Set the color opacity of the rests to zero (alpha channel on Windows). And/or scale their size to 1.

Is it in 12/8? You could use force duration to avoid dotted rests. Or set the custom scale to 1.

Or use notes, and hide the notehead and stem in Engrave mode.

Thanks for your help, but I’m not sure I understand. I’m in engrave mode, but the second image, I don’t have “Hide Stem / Hide notehead” It’s not in there
My workaround is I removed the dots to replace with 1/4 rest + 1/8 rest

One would type in notes (in the partially filled measure only) and select them; then one could hide the notes and suppress playback. For the empty measures, one can use a layout option to hide the measure rests.
