Remove staff

I imported a guitar file that has a bass clef staff (not sure why). How do I remove just that staff? Thanks!

I changed the instrument to guitar (in Setup>Players) and it deleted the bottom staff. I’m assuming then that if I wanted to get rid of the bottom staff in another context, I’d just change the instrument to, say, flute or “treble clef”?

Well, “get rid of a staff” can mean several different things. It looks like you found the right solution for your case. (It looks like the source file had the same music in both staves for some reason.)

Some instruments such as piano are 2-staff instruments normally, but staves can be added and subtracted in Dorico. There is also hiding staves automatically when they are empty across a whole system, which is usual in ensemble scores. It is also possible to hide and show staves manually for various reasons. All these different purposes have different mechanisms in Dorico.

Yes. I wasn’t sure how/what to call this issue (staff = many things). I usually use Sketch>Treble Staff for lead sheets which is the most convenient for that format. thanks very much for the clarification.
